12.03.2009 The lemon crop in Sicily is looking good, especially when compared with the sharply reduced Argentine and Spanish crops; but prices of raw material remain remain high as we are currently buying their raw material supply at €0.20-0.21 per kg delivered.
The crop in Sicily is forecast at 350.000-380.000 tonnes, 40-50% of which is expected to go for processing unless a sudden increase in demand for fresh lemons slashes this percentage.

The 2010's blood orange crop also started and after the very bad crop of last year the quantity and quality  came back at good level again. Processing blood orange is selling at €0.14-0.15/kg plus transport.
